What is Animal Farm basically about? Should I read it?

The novel was especially meant to satirize Joseph Stalin. I've never before seen anyone call Orwell an anarchist. His analogy of what happened in soviet government as seen from the perspective of the novel was that Stalin seized tyrannical power with the help of his military, symoblized in the novel by the dogs.
