Christians, explain how the churches have twisted a gathering to Israel into a nonbiblical pretrib rapture?

The few verses that people have accredited to the current rapture model can be found to have nothing to do with what is now being taught. The only convincing one is when we are "caught-up" along with the resurrected, which Scripture clearly explains to be at the last trump when all is over. Is the rapture a diabolical lie to keep Christians from learning apocalyptic truths?
