Assassins creed brotherhood tutorial?

i just got it for the xbox 360 and it was used so it didn't have a manual or anything. i want to know how to play and especially how to play multiplayer. what are the controls, what is the objective, and how do you escape somebody who is trying to kill you? you can't kill them right?
